Arrow is CW Network series developed by writer/producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Andrew Kreisberg.

New details for "Arrow" season 5 will feature a new promo trailer, Team Arrow, Prometheus and more "Flashpoint" effects in the show.

The fifth season of the "Arrow" TV series will have Oliver Queen/Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) working his way as Mayor of Star City, while operating as his vigilante persona by night. However, it will not be the same as Team Arrow has disbanded and a new line-up of heroes will step up to answer the call of Oliver in protecting the city.

Executive Producer Wendy Mericle stated that "Arrow" season 5 will go back to its original roots from season 1 as it was originally meant to be a crime drama, before "The Flash" and "Legends of Tomorrow", turning it into a full-fledge superhero show with the elements of metahumans, science fiction and magic present in the series.

With that in mind, Mericle and the rest of the showrunners want to present "Arrow" back to its original theme that will test Oliver's integrity once again starting with the new villain Prometheus. Prometheus in the DC comics, is a villain with an intellect that rivals Batman and Lex Luthor, as well as he can adapt to everyone's skill set when at his best. Mericle stated that Prometheus will not have super powers or magic at his side, but a grudge against Oliver and will go after him in a "sociopathic" kind of way.

Aside from Promtheus, Mericle also teased that the "Flashpoint" event will have an effect in season 5 as she explained that what Barry Allen/The Flash (Grant Gustin) did in the season finale of "The Flash" affected most of their shows, giving it a restart button. The fun part is that the showrunners can do whatever they want on how shows like "Arrow", "Legends of Tomorrow" or "Supergirl could be treated and how these changes affect the characters in each show, ComicBook reported.

Lastly, the new Team Arrow will have some new perspective for the characters and the audiences alike as the team will consist of Curtis Holt/Mr. Terrific (Echo Kellum), Jack Wheeler/Wild Dog (Rick Gonzalez), Evelyn Sharp/ Artemis (Madison McLaughlin), Adrian Chase/Vigilante (Josh Segarra) and Rory Regan/Ragman.

Mericle explained that dynamics of each character and what they bring to Team Arrow. For instance, Artemis will be mold into a better hero since Oliver helped during the events of season 4, while Wild Dog will provide a challenge and difficulty for Oliver due to his personality and Ragman will show more of his religious and spiritual side providing the moral grounds for the team, Collider reported.

In other news, the CW Network streamed a new promo trailer for "Arrow" season 5 which featured "The Walking Dead" star Chad L. Coleman playing one of the villains of the show, Tobias Church.

The promo also sees a statue of Laurel Lance/Black Canary in honor of her legacy in saving Star City, Jogn Diggle (David Ramsey) going back to the military and Oliver being captured and tortured by an unknown person.

"Arrow" season 5 will premier on Oct. 5 on the CW Network.
