2NE1 group member CL is slated to make her "The Late Late Show" debut appearance in September. However, speculations pointed to the South Korean singer potentially joining host James Corden for "Carpool Karaoke."

CL has been confirmed to appear on "The Late Late Show with James Corden," a late night talk show at CBS, Soompi reported. The 2NE1 singer's expected guest appearance in the said show comes after her American music debut. The South Korean musician released her English solo track titled "Lifted" on Aug. 19.

The singer has also been scheduled to visit the talk show's Los Angeles set on Sept. 15 to film her upcoming guest appearance. Rumors indicated that CL may potentially record a "Carpool Karaoke" segment with Corden, as indicated in the same report. Avid viewers would know that the TV host would usually pick up a celebrity for the said segment where he would sing a few songs with the guest star while driving.

Some of Corden's previous "Carpool Karaoke" guests include Selena Gomez, Gwen Stefani, Adele, Jennifer Lopez and more. However, the 2NE1 group member's participation in the said segment has yet to be confirmed. Other speculations pointed to CL potentially appearing as a musical guest who will perform during the CBS show.

Meanwhile, CL's upcoming "The Late Late Show" appearance will mark the Korean singer's first TV promotional activity following the release of "Lifted." The media hype behind the said track has also pushed her popularity to greater heights as evidenced by CL's recent entry in the Social 50 charts, Billboard reported. The 2NE1 musician has landed at the 17th spot of Billboard' Social 50 list for the week of Sept. 3.

The said chart lists the most popular and active artists on various social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Tumblr and more. Next Big Sound, an analytics company, has been tasked to track data for the said Billboard chart. Apart from social media presence, the Social 50 chart also looks at the page view count of the artists' online engagement activities on a weekly basis.
