Song Ji Hyo has recently opened up about being a part of the South Korean show "Running Man" and her various images in the said variety series.
"Running Man" has been one of Korea's longest running variety series. Song, along with the rest of its cast, has been regular members since the show debuted in 2010. In an interview with NUYOU, a Singaporean fashion magazine, the actress shared her thoughts about being the only female cast of the seven-member show, Soompi reported.
Over the years, viewers have seen the Korean actress go head-to-head with male cast members and guests in various games. Some of the missions featured on the show included a mix of physical activities and mental challenges. Song has displayed her competitive side and even earned the nickname "Running Man ace."
She is one of the show's cast members who have collected a lot of gold tokens and prizes. Despite her numerous wins, Song stated that she has changed from being a competitive player to someone who would rather have fun on the show, as indicated in the same report. The "Emergency Couple" star even made mention of forming stronger bonds with fellow cast members. "Through many interactions with the cast, I want to get to know them on a deeper level," Song said.
Apart from commenting on being the "Running Man ace," she also gave a candid response on other nicknames that were given to her on the show. One of these nicknames included "Bad Ji Hyo" which is used to describe the actress' angry moments on the SBS variety series. She appears to accept the said title and explained that "Bad Ji Hyo" is a part of her personality. Song also conveyed her excitement over potential new nicknames that avid viewers may come up with.
Meanwhile, veteran Korean actor Cha Seung Won has expressed his frustration and admiration over Song's skills in the "Running Man" episode that aired on Sunday, Sept. 4, allkpop reported. The seven cast members were divided into two groups with guest star Cha playing opposite Song's group. One of the challenges in the said episode involved a rock-paper-scissors game and card flipping contest.
Song managed to defeat Cha and his team members in both games. Despite the actor's frustration that his team lost the challenge, Cha still applauded the actress for her game playing abilities. "She's just too good," he mentioned.
"Running Man" airs every Sunday on SBS.
