'Clash of Clans' is a freemium mobile MMO strategy video game developed and published by Supercell.

While Pokemon GO has now taken the lead in the gaming industry, Supercell is not ready to back down anytime soon. The game developer is gearing for a major update that will most likely bring fixes, characters, and features that might bring back those who ditched that game.

The much-anticipated "Clash of Clans" (COC) update is said to arrive on Sept. 18, according to MobiPicker. The imminent update will be modified to dethrone Pokemon GO.

The upcoming "COC" update will feature four game models, including the Friendly Challenge, the Single Player, the Money Player, and the War, according to FX News Call. Supercell will bring the four modes in an effort to introduce a new play style that will offer a fresh feel for gamers.

The Sept. 18 update will also feature a default option. This feature will allow players to store their favorite army technique to save time. Since gamers are believed to apply the same strategy in every attack, the new feature is expected to save time in creating an army and in general enhance the gaming experience.

There will also be a new work assignment feature in the upcoming update. Any player will be able to assign idle workers or characters to reduce overall cost and save time. Furthermore, the game developer is expected to incorporate a reward system in the form of Gems. Those who finish certain tasks will be rewarded with gems so that new gamers will find it easier to tackle the updated "COC." Since gems will be easier to achieve, loyal gamers now have the opportunity to level up faster and enjoy a new gaming experience.

The hit mobile game right now, "Pokemon GO," lacks free Pokéballs and Pokécoins. In the event a player runs out of the Pokéballs or Pokécoins, they would be forced to spend real money to purchase them once again. Mining for free gems in "Clash of Clans" will restore the game's glory and probably enable it to overtake Pokemon GO.

Previously, Supercell constantly rolled out updates in an effort for the game to maintain its presence in the mainstream gaming sphere. It remains to be seen whether or not the once mobile games king will topple Pokemon GO and regain its popularity.

Stay tuned for more details about the imminent September "Clash of Clans" update. Here is footage to have a glimpse of what to expect:
