"One Punch Man" creators have finally confirmed that the second installment of the anime is slated to be released in 2017, although the exact premiere date is yet to be announced.
The hit action/comedy anime received overwhelming patronage since it was released in 2015, and it continues to dominate the anime world with its English dubbed version being aired in other countries as well. According to reports, the request of many viewers for "One Punch Man" Season 2 compelled Yusuke Murata, the anime's Manga Illustrator, to work on the second season earlier than he scheduled to prevent delay of the anime's release.
The confirmation of its release during the One Punch Man fall Festival negated reports suggesting that the preparations were not yet enough for Season 2, thus, there will still be a delay in its release. It is said that fans will have to wait longer than November of this year for exact premiere date announcements. In fact, it was also announced during the event that a game based on "One Punch Man" will be released in smartphones next year.
Nevertheless, despite the announcement of its unspecified final release, fans were very adept in coming up with speculations on what will be featured for "One Punch Man" Season 2. Accordingly, the focus of the next season will remain to Saitama, the protagonist who ends every fight with one punch. This character of his also explains the title.
Aside from him, it is also said that King Boros will be returning on the anime. According to rumors, he is coming back to finally settle the score with Saitama.
Meanwhile, a new villain, Garou, is also expected to be introduced in "One Punch Man" Season 2. In "One Punch Man" manga version, the latter is described to be a skilled martial artist and one of the few who is not knocked down with Saitama's legendary one punch. Rumors have it that Saitama might have his first defeat in the next season.
There were also rumors that Genos will disappear and take a different path from Saitama. It is said that he will form an alliance with Garou in "One Punch Man" Season 2.
At present, fans remain positive that the final premiere of the anime will not be later than fall of 2017.
