With “The Originals” Season 4 already confirmed, new rumors are loud that the upcoming season will feature Klaus (played by Joseph Morgan) returning to his old wicked self.

Is a family reunion out of the question for Kol and the rest of the Mikaelson siblings? In the upcoming "The Originals" Season 4, family drama gets more intense for the Mikaelsons, who might be facing their biggest threat yet.

The last time viewers saw Kol, Freya, Rebekah and Elijah was when they were stuck in deep sleep with their lives tethered to Klaus, who's been staked with the Papa Tunde's blade. In order to save his family, Klaus made the ultimate sacrifice and is now suffering the worst pain ever known.

In "The Originals" Season 4, Hayley and daughter Hope are up to the task of finding a cure for their ailments, while making sure their corpses are kept safe from the lurking enemies. Outside forces are one thing, while internal struggles within the family are another.

In Season 3, Elijah and Freya played a part in Klaus plan to murder Davina, the love of Kol's life. Kol won't take Davina's death lying down, and it is expected that he will still harbor ill feelings towards his other siblings, except for Rebekah.

"Rebekah, like her siblings, has gotten caught up into the unified family takedown and spent five years in an alternate reality and is now back once again with that same choice she always has: What is my life supposed to be outside this crazy family," creator Julie Plec shared with Entertainment Weekly.

"Kol, interestingly enough, is asking himself those same questions. The two of them are going to bond in a way that we haven't gotten to see so much about what their future is in this family and how much of this crazy they're expected to live through."

Will this lead Kol and Rebekah to ultimately leave their crazy family? Maybe, but probably not before they save Klaus.

Klaus made the ultimate sacrifice for them, and they will realize this. In another interview with EW, showrunner Michael Narducci shared that the siblings know that Klaus did the right thing and now they've got to "find out where he is and what's going on with him."

"The Originals" Season 4 returns to The CW in 2017.
