Kratos tells his son that he is hungry in the new God of War 4 trailer from Sony.

"God of War 4" will be having a significant change in plot. From Greek Mythology, the upcoming installment will shift to Norse Mythology. Although Kratos will still be the protagonist of the story, he will be dealing inside the world of Norse Mythology. On the other hand, although there are a handful of fans hopeful for a 2017 release, the next installment's launching has not yet been confirmed.

Kratos is a Greek hero and Spartan warrior who was betrayed by his former master, Ares, the God of War. Kratos will now free himself from his connection with the Gods and will seek revenge to Ares.

The entire game's overhaul was decided by everyone and underwent a rigorous process before finally considering the shift from Greek to Norse mythology. According to game directory Cory Barlog, "This is kind of a re-imagining of God of War, this idea of taking all the pieces that make up the game, pulling them apart and putting them on the floor and really evaluating everything," Trusted Reviews reported.

Barlog added before Norse mythology, "God of War 4" was also envisioned to a totally different world. He added that every kind of mythology were also considered, but it came down to two types before they finally decided which they will be adapting. Aside from Norse, the Egyptian mythology made it to the short list.

Barlog recalls that half of the team voted for this setting and even laid superb reasons to opt for the said mythology. Aside from the setting, the development team also considered changing the camera they previously used in the past installments. Since it is the team's goal to focus on Kratos' story, significant change in the player-controlled camera was also applied.

This change also led to how the protagonist moves in the player's perspective. It also highlighted events happening in the environment such as fleeing birds in a forest.

Meanwhile, other details about "God of War 4" was discussed by the same publication. In a separate report, there is still no definite release date for the upcoming installment. But it will definitely be compatible with the features of PS4 Pro.
