Sony has unveiled a new God of War video game during the E3 2016 event and it will feature Kratos and his son fighting Norse monsters and gods.

New details for the new "God War" game for the PlayStation 4 will feature an appearance at PSX 2016, a Special Edition and a Fall 2017 launch date for the sequel.

Several rumors are making rounds regarding new game details for the new "God of War" sequel for the PlayStation 4 during this year's PlayStation Experience event on December. Santa Monica first showcased the new "God of War" game during the E3 2016 event, and has skipped several major gaming events such as Gamescom, Tokyo Game Show and even the PlayStation Meeting.

Game director Cory Balrog tweeted that he wanted to show something new about "God of War" at the PSX 2016 event, but he is currently busy with the amount of work being done in the sequel.

Santa Monica added that they are not releasing more demos "God of War" at least in the near future as Balrog told the gaming fans that they rather spend time working on and completing the game. The good news, however, is that gamers can play the new "God of War" sequel in the regular PlayStation 4 console, and they will need a PlayStation 4 Pro support to experience the action, Forbes reported.

In other news, it seems that the new "God of War" sequel will likely have a Fall 2017 release date for the PS4 console.

Previous reports stated that the official website of Amazon revealed the pre-order details of the game at $59.99 with a released date placeholder on Dec. 29, 2017. For now, Santa Monica Studio has not yet revealed the exact month and date for "God of War's" release date, but gaming fans will eagerly wait for the announcement next year.

However, Balrog stated that that there are no exact dates planned yet and they are still figuring out the best way to launch the game until it is finished, Mobile&Apps reported.

Balrog added that there might be "Special Edition" for "God of War" as he tweeted if gaming fans would like artbooks, game soundtracks, and even a life-sized Kratos figure.

The plot of the new "God of War" sequel, will feature Kratos in the Norway after the events of "God of War 3" as he battles mythical beings from Norse mythology along with his unnamed son.

Lead gameplay engineer Jeet Shroff stated that gameplay controls for "God of War" will be more of trigger buttons rather than face buttons, as gamers will get to be more personal with Kratos rather than wide, arcing blows from previous "GoW" titles.

The father and son combat in "God of War" will play a huge role in the lives of Kratos and his son. Gamers can summon Kratos' son in battled and will act as an assist character and as the game progresses the son will gradually mature and strong enough to go toe-to-toe with his father or against any Norse monsters.

Balrog stated that Kratos's wife will have pivotal role in "God of War" but he did not reveal any further details at the moment. He added that sequel is being worked by the original "God of War" crew and teased that Kratos and his son will be visiting some of the nine realms in Norse mythology.

The new "God of War" will launch sometime in 2017 for the PS4.
