The important facts to know about the PlayStation VR have been revealed. The Sony virtual reality headset is under-powered compared to other VR headsets in the market today.

According to the official website of PlayStation, the PlayStation VR is Sony's virtual-reality headset, which requires their latest video game console PlayStation 4. This device features a stereoscopic 3D display with optics that allows players to put the screen in front of their eyes directly. The head-tracking feature simulates the depth and position of the player in the VR environment.

For players who are new to virtual reality, they should know what it is really. It is an attempt to fully immerse them into a virtual environment, or to make them feel that they are somewhere where their body is not. Most VR enthusiasts would refer this sensation as a feeling of presence.

Customers who will purchase the basic package of the PlayStation VR will get several items from it. It comes with the VR headset, the cables needed for the whole set up, stereo headphones, and a breakout box that includes the HDMI splitter. It also comes with the demo disc that has all of the free PlayStation VR demos.

To get the PSVR to work, owners will need to have several gadgets first. They need to have the PS4 and the PlayStation Camera. If they want a complete experience, they can also get the PlayStation move controllers, which track the position of their hands when they pick up and play with virtual objects.

Sony has confirmed that nearly all video games under the VR genre will support the standard DualShock 4 controller. A lot of games will be enhanced with the help of the Move controllers. In the future, some game titles will need the Move controllers.

Motion sickness in VR immersion only depends on the person playing and the type of game. Some of them are very sensitive to VR motion sickness compared to others. The usual games that cause this issue are the ones that use artificial locomotion.

To clean a PlayStation VR headset, owners should use the lint-free microfiber cloth that comes with the package. They need to gently rub the lenses with the cloth and it is important that they do not use any water or cleaning solution for it. To clean the light shield, they can pull the fasteners out one at a time, then wash by hand with warm water, and then dry thoroughly.

According to Gamespot, the PlayStation VR is the most accessible VR system compared to the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive. The problem with Sony's headset is that it is not as powerful as the other two unfortunately. The issue comes from the PS4's comparatively modest processing power.
