‘Seven Deadly Sins’ Season 2 update: Kinji Yoshimoto to direct the new season with absolutely new characters

The Season 2 of the popular TV anime series ''Seven Deadly Sins'' is in the making and Kinji Yoshimoto is chosen as the director. The success of the four-episode OVA (Original Video Animation) ''The Seven Deadly Sins: Signs of Holy War'' compelled the studio A-1 Pictures to take this decision.

Yoshimoto is a successful director and had worked in many successful TV anime series as a director, Anime news network reported. His work include ''Wizard Barristers: Benmashi Cecil (TV series),'' ''Queen's Blade: Grimoire (OAV),'' ''Queen's Blade: Rebellion (TV Series),'' ''End of Summer (OAV),'' ''Another Lady Innocent (OAV),'' ''Genshiken 2 (TV Series) and many more. According to Crunchyroll, the staff for the Season 2 is already selected. It is reported that there will be an inclusion of many new characters in Season 2. 

The fans recently viewed the four episode OVA entitled ''The Seven Deadly Sins: Signs of Holy War'' which aired from Aug. 28 to Sep. 18 on JNN (MBS, TBS) in Japan and was directed by Tomokazu Tokorowill. The Season 1 was directed by Tensai Okamura. The plot of the Season 1 revolved around Elizabeth Liones, the third princess of the kingdom of Lioness and the seven deadly sins. 

The telecast date of Season 2 is still unknown, but rumors are rife that it will hit the small screen in 2017. The storyline is expected to take off from where the OVA concluded. The focus still will be on Meliodas, the protagonist of Season 1. The main characters of Season 2 are expected to be Elizabeth Liones, Gowther, Merlin, Ban, the King/Harlequin, and Diane.

The success of the franchise of ''Seven Deadly Sins'' is beyond comparison and Nakaba Suzuki, the original writer of the manga series has always been appreciated for his imagination. Even though Masashi Suzuki will be the scriptwriter of the Season 2 anime series, the fans can expect the same kind of dramatic storyline as before.
