The 2016 World Celebrity Pro-Am was held at Mission Hills Haikou Resort in China's Hainan island on Oct. 21-23 and it was graced by Hollywood stars Michael Douglas and Jeremy Renner.
This was the fourth edition, and just like the previous editions, it was a star-studded event where big celebrities from the entertainment, sports and business industries come together for Asia's premier lifestyle celebration.
Douglas and Renner, who were both coming to China for the first time, appreciated the hospitality they received from the people.
Douglas, an award-winning actor and producer, said that he is filming a new Mission Impossible with Tom Cruise and that they may be in China next year. He said that there are many possibilities that they would do shootings in the country.
Renner, known for his roles such as Hawkeye in Marvel films, as black ops agent Aaron Cross in the Bourne Legacy and as Sergeant William James in the 2009 Iraq war thriller "The Hurt Locker," expressed his appreciation of the Chinese island Hainan, particularly liking the palm trees and comparing the place to Hawaii where he used to live.
According to a report in the Mission Hills website, previous editions of the World Celebrity Pro-Am have featured Hollywood's Nicole Kidman, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jessica Alba, Morgan Freeman, Hugh Grant, Matthew McConaughey, Andy Garcia, Adrian Brody, Chris Evans and Michelle Yeoh.
Moreover, some of the personalities from the sports world who have previously joined the celebrity-professional golf competition included Olympian Michael Phelps, Brazilian footballer Ronaldo and NBA star Yao Ming.
The Mission Hills Group considers this event as a weekend of friendship and cultural exchange, and an opportunity for the fans to closely interact with some of the superstars in the entertainment and sports arena.
