Actor Tom Mison attends a special screening of Fox's 'Sleepy Hollow' at Hollywood Forever on June 2, 2014 in Hollywood, California.

An exclusive first look at Tom Mison and his new co-star Janina Gavankar as Ichabod Crane and Diana, respectively, has been released, raising fans' anticipation for "Sleepy Hollow" Season 4. The Fox supernatural drama continues with the journey of Ichabod in the wake of the shocking death of Abbie Mills.

The photo shows Ichabod sporting short locks and a full beard. Meanwhile, Diana is seen wearing a police badge as the two investigate inside what appears to be an old library. TVLine reported that Ichabod is relocating to Washington, D.C. for "Sleepy Hollow" Season 4. He's working with Diana and a small group of researching in uncovering supernatural mysteries.

Now that he's in a new surrounding and meeting new people, Ichabod puts his guard up once more. "There's a little less buffoonery, which I'm very, very pleased with. Because it doesn't do any favors for Ichabod - or Tom," Mison said about his character's development.

Speaking about his new partner, Diana, he said their relationship starts out explosive-with a lot of yelling, bickering and argumentation that is.

"She has just lost her partner, and doesn't believe in the supernatural world, and is thrust into it with a man from 250 years ago," TVLine quoted Ichabod as saying. So she, having lost her partner, and Ichabod loses his... there is a hole that needs to be filled, whether they will admit it or not. Janina and I seem to have found something quite nice, where we don't want to fall straight into each other's arms and be partners.

Diana's character is intended to "reintroduce the idea of how weird this universe is." The character is further described as an Indian-American single mother.

Mison also spoke about Nicole Beharie's exit from the show, commenting that his and Beharie's characters were terrific together, and that they, as actors, also worked really well together. He added that even with the knowledge that Beharie's character would be killed by the season finale, none of the cast thought there was ever going to be another season of "Sleepy Hollow."

"Sleepy Hollow" Season 4 premiers this fall on Fox.
