JYP new girl group

Rumors are rife that JYP is cooking another reality show with Mnet to pave the way for another girl group from the label that is set to debut in 2017.

A year after phenomenal girl group TWICE debuted, it seems that JYP will introduce another set of girls hoping to take over the Kpop industry by storm. In early 2015, the female trainees of JYP were sieved so only the best and most confident girls are set to debut through a reality survival show "Sixteen". The girls were subjected to different tasks to gauge their readiness to debut as well as their compatibility with other members.

Originally pegged to launch a seven-member girl group, JYP CEO Park Jin-young changed his mind and introduced a nine-member idol, TWICE, which debuted in October 2015.

It is speculated that debuting another girl group is JYP's solution to dominate market sales that has dampened since Wonder Girls and Miss A are low in popularity. It is also a probable solution to debut Jeon Somi who was the center of IOI that is set to disband in early 2017.

Currently dubbed as 6Mix, some of the possible contenders for the final line up of members are Sixteen alumni Somi, Chae Sisters (Chaeyeon and Chaeryoung), Natty, and Eunsuh. Other girls rumored to join the new girl group are Mashiro, Park Yejin, Lily M., and Oh Hanseol.

Reports claimed that Jeon Somi will be the center of the new girl group, while KPOP Star 4 alumnae Lily M. will be the main vocal. However, there is no official confirmation from JYP's camp and the title of the survival show is still unknown.
