iOS 10 Jailbreak rumors: Who has the real tool to crack the Apple code?

Hackers are in a frantic race to come up with an iOS 10 jailbreak as Apple continues to fend them off with successive operating system updates.

Pangu and TaiG lead the race for a potential iOS 10 jailbreak tool, something the Apple jailbreaking community has long been looking for. Apple has made it more difficult with its constant updates though most were meant to patch up OS problems on their end.

As most know, iOS 10 has been far from perfect and truth of that being the compatibility and security issues that were exposed recently. But even with those revelations, it has been a mystery why Pangu and the rest of the hacking groups are unable to come out with a working iOS 10 jailbreak.

There are plenty of possibilities that could be tied up to the shortcoming of hackers. One is the consecutive updates and the other is the fact that Apple has upped the version (iOS 10.0.2). With the base operating system version set, Pangu and hackers may have to focus on iOS 10.0.2 to make an iOS 10 jailbreak sensible.

Aside from those, there is also the Bug Bounty program launched by Apple back on August, 9 to 5 Mac reported. The challenge was issued by the Cupertino company in an effort to thresh out the bugs and flaws for their mobile operating systems where a pot of $200,000 awaits. Though it is an invite-only program, possibly being rewarded with quite a sum is seen better than gaining prestige when making an working iOS jailbreak public.

Moreover, Apple is making progress as well for iOS 10.2. The next iOS version is now at the second stage of the beta phase and could eventually come out soon, CNet reported. The current iOS version being rolled out is iOS 10.1.1.

There have been alleged iOS 10.1 cracks but all have been limited to videos online. The fact that none has been made public technically makes them hoaxes for the sake of attention. The last working tool was still iOS 9.3.3 from Pangu and nothing followed since.

Pangu and TaiG remain the credible groups to wait on as far as an iOS 10 jailbreak is concerned and most are still hopefully waiting for one to come out.

The video below gets into detail on the alleged iOS 10.1.1 and iOS 10.1 jailbreaks.
