Sony and Marvel announced a new Spider-Man video game during E3 2016 developed by Insomniac Games for the PlayStation 4.

The latest game details for the "Spider-Man" PS4 game will feature new villains and a teased of the web-slinger in the PlayStation 4 Pro trailer.

Spider-Man was featured in the new trailer for the PlayStation 4 called "The King", which promotes the upcoming video game titles for next year. These includes "God of War," "Call of Duty," and "Horizon Zero Dawn". The web-slinger made a brief appearance in the trailer stopping armed criminals, wearing the costume with the much-maligned white spider emblem.

The trailer also teased that more game details for "Spider-Man: PS4 will be coming soon, not to mention a new trailer for the web-slinger, GameNGuide reported.

Insomniac Games will likely port "Spider-Man" PS4 in the new updated console, PlayStation 4 Pro. Sony officially announced the new console during the PlayStation Meeting event along with a new test footage trailer showcasing its impressive graphic improvements and a number of games like "For Honor", "Days Gone", "Watch Dogs 2" and "Spider-Man".

The developers clarified that the game will be featured in both PS4 and PS4 Pro consoles, making sure PS4 users are not left behind.

In other news, rumors are making rounds regarding new Marvel characters added to the "Spider-Man" PS4 video game.

WhatCulture created a survey of top ten characters from the Spider-Man mythos and these names include Spot, Mister Negative, The Tinkerer, Alistair Smythe the Spider-Slayer, The Jackal, J. Jonah Jameson, Massacre, The Vulture, The Inheritors, and Green Goblin.

Both Mister Negative and Green Goblin have been teased as the main villains of the "Spider-Man" PS4 game as the E3 2016 trailer featured the web-slinger fighting masked criminals resembling Mister Negative's gang, while Oscorp has been shown on the background hinting an appearance of Norman Osborn.

The plot of the "Spider-Man" PS4 game will be a standalone story and will feature a more experienced Peter Parker/Spider-Man, which will not tie in to the "Homecoming" film by Marvel Studios. Creative director Bill Rosemann added that the plot will have full of mysteries as there is a story behind everything, delving deeper into the web-slinger's world. The game will have a huge open-world gameplay in New York as Spidey utilizes his web swinging and amazing parkour skills to move around and fight criminals on a daily basis.

Sony and Marvel has not yet announced a release date of "Spider-Man" for the PS4.
