Randy Orton joins The Wyatt Family in an episode of SmackDown Live.

Randy Orton surprisingly joined Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper to form The New Wyatt Family. The latest rumors suggest that The New Wyatt Family could win the SmackDown Tag Team titles from Heath Slater and Rhyno.

The Viper was in the middle of a feud with Wyatt and Harper when he attacked his partner Kane. He then joined The Wyatt Family for good and turned heel in the process. It seems to be just a ploy but it has become a better story now that they are very successful.

Orton and Wyatt were the survivors in the 5-on-5 Men's Survivor Series Match between Team Raw and Team SmackDown Live. On the other hand, Slater and Rhyno failed to lead Team SmackDown against Team Raw in the Tag Team Survivor Series Match.

As recapped by WWE.com, SmackDown Live held a tag team turmoil to determine the No. 1 contender for the tag team titles. American Alpha came out on top but The Wyatt Family interrupted their celebration and revealed that they will face them next week to really know who will challenge Slater and Rhyno.

According to Ringside News, there is a "good chance" Orton and Wyatt will become the new SmackDown Tag Team champions at TLC. It is noted that the team of Chad Gable and Jason Jordan were set to get the opportunity but WWE officials changed their mind.

The report also mentioned that the WWE is okay with Slater and Rhyno as champions but they see them only as a comedy tag team. The company likes that they are over with the crowd but they are not making the titles prestigious.

The belief backstage is that WWE wants Orton and Wyatt to hold the Tag Team titles to make it more important. The Viper is one of the most successful superstars of all time while Wyatt is one of the top heels in the company that has a great future.

It was rumored a couple of months ago that The Usos will take the SmackDown Live titles from Slater and Rhyno. Then American Alpha would win the titles from The Usos at WrestleMania 33 to make them bigger.

However, it seems like the WWE changed their plans and they will go in a different direction. It should be noted that these are just purely speculative at the moment and must be taken with a grain of salt.
