YG Entertainment announced the 2NE1 disbandment last week that broke the hearts of many fans.
In a heartfelt letter, CL apologized to fans explaining that she and the company did their best to keep the group together. The singer also revealed that she spent her whole summer in Korea working on two new songs for the much awaited 2NE1 comeback.

CL in a video with Zion T.
CL posted a video with Zion T. that sparked speculations that she is working on a song or album with the singer-songwriter. Zion T. is a singer signed by YG Entertainment. He was often requested to write songs for artists. Even veteran songwriter Yoo Hee Yeol requests songs from him.
CL cancelled a show in Mexico
CL cancelled her appearance in Mexico last summer after announcing it on social media with Zion T. This is probably what CL meant that she dropped everything to work on an album in Korea. Since 2013, CL's US debut has been in the works. 2NE1 on hiatus gives CL the leeway to further her career overseas.
Park Bom and Dara seen in public
Since April this year, controversial member Park Bom was seen multiple times in the public. Her attempt to please the public is a sure indication that YG Entertainment is testing the waters on what the netizens feels about a 2NE1 comeback. Bom was often seen with Dara that lessen the blow ofnetizens'comments.
Dara sporting a new hairstyle
Probably one of the biggest teasers that hinted a 2NE1 comeback was when Dara sported a crazy hairstyle. For years, Dara has been sporting cool yet weird hairstyles that only she can pull off.
