Fans experience new PlayStation content during the PlayStation E3 2016 Press Conference at The Shrine Auditorium on June 13, 2016 in Los Angeles, California.

The first day of the two-day PlayStation Experience 2016 brought many surprises for gaming fans. Sony revealed upcoming games for the PlayStation 4 during the keynote session and several of them were unexpected. The game community was surprised to hear game developer Naughty Dog announce "The Last of Us: Part 2" and "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" for the current generation Playstation. Capcom also announced "Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite" and the re-release version of "Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3."

When Naughty Dog released the action-adventure survival game "The Last of Us" in 2013, Ellie was just a young girl. She was the companion of Joel, the game's protagonist. Now, fans can expect both of them to be back. According to Polygon, both will return in the sequel but this time, Ellie will be all grown up. She will be the protagonist while Joel will be the sidekick.

Creative director Neil Druckmann said that the game is still in its early development and is happy to have a chance to continue the story that is worth telling. More updates are promised by the director in the coming months.

Additionally, Naughty Dog also showed a short clip for another game, "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy." The first day attendees of the event thought that it was for another "Tomb Raider" game but were surprised to see not Lara Croft but Chloe Frazier, first introduced in "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves." In the clip, she was joined by Nadine Ross, who first appeared in this year's "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End." It remains to be seen if Nathan Drake, the protagonist of the game series, will also be in the next game.

Capcom also featured a clip, and it was for "Marvel vs Capcom Infinite." It is an all-star fighting game that is scheduled to debut next year. The clip presented to the crowd showed Mega Man and Ryu joining forces against Iron Man. The American billionaire superhero was later joined by Captain Marvel, according to Gamespot.

It was also confirmed by the Japanese developer that "Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3" is now available for the PlayStation 4. The Xbox One and Windows PC version will be available by March 2017.

The PlayStation Experience 2016 is a two-day event (Dec. 3 and 4) happening at the Anaheim Convention Center in California.
