Lowly club Crystal Palace FC (4-9-3, 15 points) is set to face current league leaders Chelsea FC (13-2-1, 40 points) at the Selhurst Park on Saturday, Dec. 17 as round 17 of the 2016-2017 Premier League season commences.

Crystal Palace has been struggling at the moment with five winless games in their last six outings. The team is on a two-game winless skid and is settled in the 16th place in the overall standings, just three points above the bottom three relegation area.

The Eagles are coming off a sorry 1-2 loss to Manchester United also at the Selhurst Park on Wednesday, as per Metro.

United midfielder Paul Pogba netted the opening goal of the contest in controversial fashion during the first half injury time with Pogba suspected of offside.

The Blues nipped cellar-dwelling club Sunderland, 1-0, on the road at the Stadium of Light also on Wednesday, the Independent reported.

Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas netted the winning goal of the match for head coach Antonio Conte's squad in the 40th minute off a give-and-go play with Brazilian midfielder Willian. It was the first goal of the season for Fabregas, who has appeared only seven times so far under Conte's reign.
