Middling teams AC Chievo Verona (6-6-4, 22 points) and UC Sampdoria (6-6-4, 22 points) are set to clash in a 2016-2017 Serie a season encounter on Dec. 18, Sunday at the Marc'Antonio Bentegodi Stadium.

Chievo has been on a roll lately with three unbeaten performances in their last four matches. They are currently in the 11th spot of the 20-team Italian top flight table, tied on points with Sampdoria but has a slightly higher goal difference.
Mussi Volanti is coming off a 2-0 thrashing of cellar-dwelling side Palermo last Sunday on the road at the Renzo Barbera Stadium, as per ESPN.
Slovenian midfielder Valter Birsa opened the game's scoring for head coach Rolando Maran's side in the 14th minute with a left-footed shot from the center of the box to the bottom right corner of Palermo keeper Josip Posavec's net.
Chievo then doubled the lead four minutes after the restart with a goal by team captain Sergio Pellissier after his earlier attempt on goal was caught offside.
Palermo was unable to answer with any goals as the visitors took the game and another three points in the standings.
Meanwhile, Sampdoria snapped a five-game unbeaten streak after they were nipped by contending team Lazio, 1-2, at their home ground of Luigi Ferraris Stadium last Saturday, Fox Sports Asia reported.
The visitors netted two first half goals, courtesy of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Marco Parolo in the 40th and 44th minutes, to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the halftime break.
Substitute Czech forward Patrik Schick was able to score a consolation goal with a minute remaining before full-time as Sampdoria fell short in their bid to find the equalizer.
With the loss, Sampdoria has remained in the 12th place in the overall standings. Both Chievo and Sampdoria are 13 points above the bottom three relegation area and nine points below the Europa League qualifying berths for next season.
