The "Halo" franchise is a decade and a half years old but is still going strong, with "Halo 5: Guardians" receiving new DLC and "Halo Wars 2" launching in early 2017. It has now been revealed that the developers are not done and are currently working on new "Halo" projects launching very soon.
In the official "Halo" blog site it was announced that they recently conducted a "studio-wide presentation" held by Creative Director Tim Longo. It was further stated that the presentation tackled "super secret stuff" but no further details about these future projects were revealed.
According to Gamespot, the company did confirm they were in the early stages of planning for "Halo 6" and there was also the Steven Spielberg-directed television series. Either of these could be the new projects being talked about or they could be referring to new titles entirely.
A "Halo" live-action film had been in development for over a decade. At one point it was going to be directed by Neill Blomkamp and produced by Peter Jackson but the project was dropped and the duo instead worked on "District 9." A smaller budget film, "Halo: Forward Unto Dawn" was released in 2012.
This was then followed by the Ridley Scott-produced series "Halo: Nightfall" and the animated short films collectively referred to as "Halo: Legends." Should one of the teased projects refer to the live-action series, Neill Blomkamp is rumored to be directing the pilot and will work with Steven Spielberg.
343 Industries' blog post also reveals the full list of achievements for "Halo Wars: Definitive Edition," which launches this Dec. 20 for both the Xbox One and Windows PC. 75 achievements have been listed and some of them include getting a gold medal for every mission in the game and not destroying the Power Node in Mission 7.
"Halo Wars: Definitive Edition" will feature better graphics than the original and will also come with all of the DLC content already packaged in. "Halo Wars 2" will be released on Feb. 21, 2017.
