Warner Bros. Pictures has just teased the sequel to 1982's classic sci-fi film, "Blade Runner" entitled "Bladerunner 2049." As the video suggests, the latest chapter in the film franchise will be a follow-up to the events that transpired over three decades ago.

The plot of the story is still undisclosed as of the moment. Nonetheless, Collider mentioned that the film's protagonist that only goes by the codename "K," who is assumed by Ryan Gosling, is tracing the whereabouts of former blade runner Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) as the former discovered an extremely classified information that has the potential to destroy the remaining society that they are in. As per the teaser video, the two eventually meet in a very unlikely manner as it can be seen where Ford slowly crept out from the dark with his gun pointing at Gosling.

For those who are not familiar with the franchise, Ford's aforementioned persona in the film is the original protagonist in its 80's version as it patrols the dehumanizing streets of Los Angeles in the year 2019.

Aside from the secret that Gosling's character uncovered, it seems that the sequel is still not over with some of the "replicants" that has gone haywire since it was mentioned early on in the clip.

Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter noted that the new "Blade Runner" featurette should get an "R" rating if it will go ahead with the grittiness and visual gore that its predecessor had showcased three decades ago. That being said, the film's director, Denis Villeneuve, is believed to be taking on the same approach that the first film took and it is pretty much expected to be stamped with such rating.

"Blade Runner 2049" will also feature other great talents such as the Cuban-born Ana de Armas, Robin Wright and even Jared Leto and the film will be released on October 6 next year.
