Joseph Mawle plays the role of Benjen Stark in the HBO's hit series "Game of Thrones."

The recent spotting of a "Game of Thrones" actor in Belfast, where the HBO drama is currently being filmed, has created quite a stir among the show's fans. Joseph Mawle, who stars as Benjen Stark in the hit fantasy series, was recently spotted along with other cast members, triggering rumors that Benjen will return in the upcoming season.

Mawle was spotted along with Iain Glen and Kristofer Hivju on what appeared to be a celebration after a day's filming. While Glen famously plays Ser Jorah, Hivju will reprise his role as Tormund in "Game of Thrones" Season 7. The trio was pictured hanging out at a restaurant in Belfast called Mumbai 27, Watchers On The Wall reported.

Mawle's character was last seen saving Bran Stark and Meera Reed from Whitewalkers before galloping away. However, the recent spotting of the actor seems to suggest that Benjen Stark, who is also known as Coldhands, will not only appear in the upcoming season, he is also likely to be running into Ser Jorah and Tormund.

Previous behind-the-scene pictures from the sets in Belfast have already confirmed the return of Ser Jorah. The character is seemingly still alive, despite battling his fatal greyscale, and is likely to be reunited with Khaleesi.

It now seems that Starks, that include Jon Snow, Arya Stark and Sansa Stark, will unitedly come face to face with Khaleesi and her forces, after which Benjen will come with the ominous news that White Walkers are just beyond the wall. It is also rumored that Benjen will play a key character in revealing Jon Snow's true parentage. The former's return in the upcoming season could also mean more knowledge about the Children and Whitewalkers.

On the other hand, Sophie Turner has revealed that "Game of Thrones" Season 7 will bring out a darker side in Sansa. The actress has reportedly finished shooting her part for the shortened upcoming season and is back home in London.

"That was a mild version of Dark Sansa, and now it's really starting to feel like there is a dark side to her," the 19-year-old actress told Vulture. "She's playing the game now, and very ruthlessly."
