Samsung is rumored to be working on a mammoth sized Galaxy S8 Plus flagship smartphone. It is speculated that its arrival will result in the end of Galaxy Note series.

Samsung had launched Galaxy Note 5 in 2015 and it skipped the Note 6 moniker to launch Galaxy Note 7 this year. The Note 7 arrived with stellar specifications but the South Korean company had to do a global recall as Note 7's battery started exploding without warning.

Samsung is known for releasing Galaxy S series flagships in the first quarter of the year and it launches a Note series flagship in August-September period. Speculations have it that the South Korean company is considering to kill the Note series entirely by launching a larger sized Galaxy S8.

Rumors are rife that the Samsung Galaxy S8 with a 6-inch screen is in works. This smartphone is expected to carry 'Galaxy S8 Plus' moniker and is expected to launch alongside 5-inch Galaxy S8.

Both the smartphones are expected to feature dual-edge curved AMOLED screens, GSM Arena reported. It is speculated that the S8 models will not be featuring Home buttons.

The South Korean company is yet to introduce dual camera feature on its smartphones. Speculations indicate that the Galaxy S8 Plus will be the first smartphone to feature it on its back. On the other side, the Galaxy S8 would be featuring a single camera on its back.

New rumors coming from China hints that the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus would be equipped with 8 GB of RAM and a faster UFS 2.1 flash storage, MySmartPrice reported. It is likely that both the smartphone won't be featuring 3.5 mm audio jack.

The Snapdragon 835 SoC will be driving both the smartphone variants in the U.S and China whereas other regions are expected to receive models powered by Exynos 8895 SoC. As of this writing, there is no confirmation whether it will be featuring an S-Pen stylus.

Other rumored features of Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus include Bluetooth 5.0, Android 7.0 Nougat OS with Experience UI from Samsung, AI assistants named Bixby and Kestra and a huge 4,000 mAh battery.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 release date has been rumored to be pushed to April 2017. The cost of components of the upcoming S8 series is expected to increase by 15-20 percent compared to its predecessor. It indicates that the S8 and S8 Plus would be carrying costlier price tags than their predecessors.
