"Orange is the New Black" alum Samira Wiley may have been axed from the hit Netflix series, but the actress still has so many things to be thankful for. At present, she is happily engaged with her fiancée, Lauren Morelli, a writer for the series.

While speaking with Out magazine, Morelli revealed that she first saw Wiley's audition tape in 2012. At that time, she already had a crush on the actress. However, things were very complicated because she was still married to man at that time. A few years later, she divorced him and got into a relationship with Wiley in 2014.

Meanwhile, even though Morelli and Wiley knew that they want to get married to each other, the latter still gave the former time to make sure that she was ready for a lesbian partnership. This confirmed to Morelli that Wiley was looking after her welfare so she eventually decided to get engaged.

In 2015, Morelli finally felt that she was ready so she was the one who asked for Wiley's hand in marriage. The writer proposed to Wiley during their trip to Palm Springs. At that time, Morelli asked Wiley to stand up from the couch and dance with her. She then pulled out the ring from behind the couch and proposed. Morelli thought Wiley already had an idea that she was going to ask for her hand in marriage, but she was very shocked.

"That was really important to us - to have some time where it was just ours," Wiley said.

In other news, Wiley's character Poussey was killed off in the finale episode of "Orange is the New Black" Season 4. Fans of the character could not accept the fact that Poussey was brutally murdered.

However, the actress comforted her fans by saying that she felt it was necessary for Poussey to go so people will have something important to talk about. While speaking with Variety, the actress said, "One of the things that we wanted to do was start a conversation... The conversations on set were mirroring, I think," she said.

"Orange is the New Black" Season 5 will premiere on Netflix sometime this June.
