"Orange is the New Black" Season 5 may see the return of some old characters that left the series in the previous installments.
According to Cinema Blend, "Orange is the New Black" Season 4 flipped the script and was focused more on the new characters. Even though the storylines were still appreciated by the viewers, majority of the fans have missed watching the original character line up.
Meanwhile, actress Lori Petty, who played the role of Lolly, strongly believes that her character will be back next season. While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter a few months ago, Petty said that she is just waiting to receive a call from showrunner Jenji Kohan, and she will immediately hop on a plane and start filming.
The actress also confirmed that "Orange is the New Black" Season 5 will have a total of 13 episodes. At the time of her interview, the cast has only filmed an entire episode. In the finale episode for Season 4, Lolly played a crucial part in saving Alex's (Laura Prepon) life.
There are also some rumors claiming that Matt McGorry will return to reprise his role as Benett, according to Cinema Blend. The actor was last seen in the hit Netflix series in Season 2. He later on starred in ABC's hit show, "How to Get Away With Murder."
In other news, "Orange is the New Black" lead star Taylor Schilling is rumored to be feuding with her co-star, Prepon. There are also some speculations that the two actresses will have fewer scenes in the upcoming episodes of the show. However, Prepon debunked the rumors through a recent post on her Twitter account.
Last month, the actress was photographed with Schilling while on the set of "Orange is the New Black." Schilling's arm was wrapped around Prepon's neck, and both of them were also holding a clicker. The latter also confirmed that the snap was taken on the day that she was directing an episode of "Orange is the New Black" Season 5.
"Orange is the New Black" Season 5 will premiere on Netflix sometime in June 2017.
