A demonstration of the new art-style for Chucklefish Games' upcoming game.

After Chucklefish Games released "Starbound" in July last year, CEO Finn "Tiyuri" Brice teased several new projects were in development. Nothing was further revealed but now Brice has released official images and teaser videos showcasing two different games, one of which is a tactical RPG inspired by "Fire Emblem" and "Advance Wars."

Brice first tweeted an image of the tactical RPG and it showcased that it will retain a retro-style visual approach, similar to what the company did with "Starbound." He later updated his Twitter feed by posting a video showcasing a level creator and a few moments of gameplay.

"The first is a turn based strategy game, a more modern spiritual successor to Advance Wars that retains some of the pixel charm," Brice told PC Gamer. "The goal is to make good use of modern tech, online multiplayer, Steam Workshop support, that kind of thing."

The latter is utilizing "Spellbound" as a working title and will be a Sim RPG, blending elements of "Stardew Valley" and a school of magic like in "Harry Potter." It should be noted that while Chucklefish Games did not develop "Stardew Valley" they did publish the game and it has seen massive success.

He also released a YouTube video teasing the artstyle of the second game. It too uses retro-style visuals but instead of a fantasy battlefield it depicts two young characters in a house or school. There is a textbox with a graphic of a female wizard stating the image is merely an artstyle demonstration.

It is still uncertain how long these games have been in development but Brice did confirm he and the rest of the studio are back at work following the holiday break, Dual Shockers reported. This indicates the game may be entering Steam Early Access or get a full launch within the year.

No official release date for either game has yet been announced. The artstyle demonstration Brice posted can be viewed below:
