Nokia is heading to a comeback in 2017, with its roadmap revealing at least three new smartphones in the Mobile World Congress (MWC) event. Under the ownership of HMD Global, the company is set to release four models in 2nd and 3rd quarter this year, including the highly-anticipated NokiaD1C model.
Based on reports, supply chain sources from the company announced the four new models. The unknown models will have display sizes ranging from 5 inches to 5.7 inches, at QHD or full-HD resolutions, according to DigiTimes.
The sources further added that the upcoming smartphones' panel suppliers will be LG Display, Century Technology (CTC) and Innolux, with FIH Mobile serving as production partner.
Right now, details on the four upcoming models are still scarce as the company remained silent on them. However, recent rumors suggest that the purported Nokia D1C is likely the first Android Nokia phone to make a debut at the MWC 2017.
According to YIBADA, the purported Nokia D1C features impressive specs including 13-megapixel and 16-megapixel cameras and 16GB or 32GB storage options. As per its internal chassis, the Nokia D1C is also likely to run on a Snapdragon 430 chip from Qualcomm and carry an Adreno 505 GPU on board.
Other reports indicate that the device will likely be released in two variants. The higher-priced version will be pegged at US$200, which will sport a 3GB of RAM and a 5.5-inch Full HD (1080p) display. The cheaper version, on the other hand, is estimated at a price tag of US$150, featured with 2GB RAM and a 5-inch Full HD display.
Last December, the specs and renders of the upcoming 'Nokia P' flagship phone have been spotted on a Chinese microblogging site, Weibo, sporting a Nokia logo placed on the phone's rear side.
Specs-wise, the alleged 'Nokia P' flagship is likely to be equipped with Qualcomm's high-end Snapdragon 835 chipset, coupled with Adreno 540 graphics. It will be powered with 6GB of RAM, and a quad HD resolution display. In its optics department, the device is rumored to sport 23-megapixel rear camera featuring a Zeiss lens. More leaked renders suggest the device will be available in gray color variant.
However, the Nokia P smartphone might be pushed to arrive later in 2017 as Nokia will likely focus on launching affordable smartphones in its new management.
