"Vikings" Season 4, episode 16 spoilers roundup

According to the synopsis, Lagertha continues her quest for power in Kattegat. Elsewhere, Bjorn's fleet is sailing forward and they launch a surprise attack.

In the previous, Ragnar was tortured and killed, which was inevitable. Actor Travis Fimmel (Ragnar) and showrunner Michael Hirst talked to The Hollywood Reporter about Ragnar's death and if he will reappear in a physical form in the future.

Fimmel stated that Ragnar was an atheist and it will not make sense if he comes up in a spirit or ghostly form.

"Yeah, no, no. I'm not returning. It sort of doesn't make sense. My character is an atheist, so I'm not going to be coming up in any ghost, religious ghostly images or anything. I think you have to be very religious for people to have that belief in you," Fimmel said.

However, Hirst hinted that since Ragnar has such an incredible presence in the lives of people, he can "reappear in dreams, in visions."

"But because he's such a powerful presence in people's lives he could reappear in dreams, in visions ... I don't think that any of my major characters ... I started with - Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard), Ragnar and Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) and Rollo (Clive Standen) ... none of them will ever actually go away or disappear from the saga," Hirst said.
