The Motorola DROID Turbo 2, also known as Moto X Force, is the next in line to be updated to the Android 7.0 Nougat. The last devices to receive the update were the Motorola Moto Z Force DROID and Motorola Moto Z DROID back in November 2016.
According to Phone Arena, the Bluetooth SIG reveals that the XT1585 has been certified to use the Android 7.0 OS. The update brings about some new features for the Turbo 2 handset as well as enhancing the ones currently existing.
Some of the new features introduced with the Android 7 Nougat include Doze, which stops the background-running apps when the phone is in its idle mode, which certainly helps a lot in prolonging the phone's standby time and battery life. Another good feature is the Seamless Updates, which downloads a new build for the Android OS automatically as it gets released.
Also, there will be two new Notification Controls that will be released with the Android 7 Nougat update on the Motorola DROID Turbo 2. This will allow users to either silence future notifications or block them.
The Motorola DROID Turbo 2 is a sequel to the Motorola DROID turbo phone, a popular Verizon-exclusive smartphone. One of its most famous features is its Shattershield layered technology on its front screen.
The feature ensures that, as long as it is not dropped more than five feet high over the course of four years, the display screen is guaranteed not to crack or shatter. However, the Shattershield feature is improved on the Motorola Moto Z Force and Motorola Z Force DROID.
Sadly, the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Motorola DROID Turbo 2 does not have a specific release date, according to GSM Arena. However, since the Bluetooth certification has already been received, it is expected for it to roll out sometime in January or at the beginning of February.
