Lee Ji Eun (IU) was reunited with her former on-screen lover, Lee Joon Gi, at the former's concert in Taiwan. Despite the latter's busy schedule, he made sure to find time to join his "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo" co-star as she completed another date on her first solo concert tour.
On Jan. 07, Saturday, thousands of fans flocked to Taipei, Taiwan for a once-in-a-lifetime chance to meet IU when she kicked off the "24 Steps: One, Two, Three, Four" solo concert tour, Soompi reported. There, the singer showcased different sides of herself that have not been known to many and performed never-before-heard tracks too.
Shortly after she finished singing, Joon Gi made a surprise entrance on stage. He was then met with immense cheers and excitement from fans who recognized him by just his silhouette.
Joon Gi and IU's undeniable chemistry and stage presence made thousands of fans go crazy. The screams intensified when they recreated the heart-breaking rain scene from the SBS historical drama.
The Hallyu star then hugged IU tightly and complimented her warm voice. In response, the singer talked about how thankful she is that the actor has come all the way from South Korea to make the concert special.
"I could not reject you," Joon Gi said. "When I first know about this, I feel like it would be so fun. [But] When I was watching at backstage, I just want to go the audience seats and watch your performance. I think there will still be empty seats, is there? If Ji Eun likes it, I will come."
Joon Gi, who played 4th Prince Wang So in the SBS drama, then performed one of the show's original soundtracks titled "For You." Photos from the event were widely circulated on Twitter.
Meanwhile, due to their undeniable on-screen chemistry and romance in "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, Joon Gi and IU received the Best Couple Award at the 2016 SBS Drama Awards, according to Korean newsoutlet Star News. Though they did not expect to win, the two admitted they are truly happy to receive the said award.
