An old video of TWICE members at a fan meeting has surfaced and is attracting attention for all the wrong reasons. The fan-captured video, which has since gone viral, shows fans being rude and disrespectful towards members of the girl group.
During the event, Tzuyu is just about speak into the microphone when some members in the audience started hurling insults at the idol and All Kpop quoted them as saying things like, "Just don't do it," "Don't do it," "Shut your mouth," "Mumble Mumble," and so on. The fans' rude behavior left Tzuyu in shock and the Taiwanese singer awkwardly stood on stage without uttering a single word.
Eventually, she asks Jungyeon to do it and passes over the mic to her fellow group member. Even though the video clip is an old one, netizens are expressing their anger over the fans' behavior after watching the video, which was shared on an online forum on Jan. 10, Tuesday.
The netizens criticized the audience members for being disrespectful towards Tzuyu after the idol has taken the time out of her busy schedule to meet and greet fans. One netizen pointed out that the rude fans started cheering when the mic was passed on to Jungyeon and had he/she been in Tzuyu's place, he/she would have broken down in tears.
While some fans commented saying that the rude fans should have kept their mouths shut instead of Tzuyu, some defended the audience members by saying that they asked the idol to shut up because she was supposed to conclude the event and the fans did not want the event to end.
TWICE is one of the most popular girl-groups in South Korea and their recent release, "TT," smashed YouTube for becoming the fastest K-pop group to achieve 100 million hits on the video-sharing platform. The nine-member girl group managed to achieve the milestone in just 71 days, breaking the previous record of 207 days, which was also set by the group with the MV of their track, "Cheer Up," according to Yonhap News.
