"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 has not yet returned after its short winter hiatus, but Channing Dungey, president of ABC entertainment, is confident that the show will be picked up by the network for at least another season.

While speaking with Deadline, Dungey said that he does not worry too much about the fate of the Ellen Pompeo starrer. After all, the series continues to be one of the highest-rating shows of ABC.

"I do not think about endgame for 'Grey's.' We are doing better in Season 13 than we have done in a while, and I feel that the show creatively is firing on all cylinders. As long as the fans remain engaged, ratings are good and Shonda (Rhimes) creatively is excited about it, let us keep it going," he said.

But even though "Grey's Anatomy" will most likely be renewed for Season 14, it seems that not all of its cast members will be returning for more episodes. Just recently, Jerrika Hinton was cast in HBO's original TV series. If there will be scheduling conflicts, the actress will most certainly choose to be in the show where she will be playing one of the leads.

In "Grey's Anatomy," Hinton has been playing the supporting role of Dr. Stephanie Edwards. Despite the multiple seasons that she has been on the show, Stephanie has not received that many major storylines.

Meanwhile, there are also some rumors claiming that Justin Chambers will be leaving "Grey's Anatomy" at the end of Season 13, according to Variety. Chambers is one of the few remaining original cast members who have been with the series throughout all 13 seasons.

In the upcoming episode, Chambers' Alex will find himself in prison for assaulting Andrew de Luca (Giacomo Gianniotti). This suggests that Alex's scenes in the series especially at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital will be lessened.

It has been a common practice on the show for characters who are about to leave to have either fewer or more impactful storylines. The same can be said about Chambers' Alex.

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 will return to ABC with episode 10 on Jan. 26 at 8 p.m. EST.
