In December 2016, Kodansha Comics gifted "Attack on Titan" fans with an early holiday present with the release of the first teaser trailer for the much-anticipated sequel. This week, an altered trailer for "Attack of Titan 2" is making the rounds online, featuring new scenes that involve Mikasa Ackerman and a throng of fast-moving Titans.
The first footage of "Attack on Titan" was released last month opens with a familiar scene, where hordes of Titans are shown trying to make their way towards humanity. The trailer declares that the day marks the new darkest day in the history of humanity, with the military shown desperately trying to fend off the Titans and address the violent attack. It also shows major characters like Eren, Mikasa and Armin using their gears to kill the beasts.
Meanwhile, the trailer released this week features new Titans. A gargantuan and furry Titan is shown preparing to launch an attack against a member of the Survey Corps with his horse, while another small Titan is seen digging into the flesh of another group of Titans. The Titans shown in the clip are new to anime fans. However, fans of the manga may already have an idea as to who they are and what their mission is in the sequel, according to Comicbook.
The trailer also features the Armored and Colossus Titan, which both look as deadly as ever. In the trailer, Efren Yeager is seen struggling as he fights the former Abnormal Titan. Somewhere in the video, Mikasa appears to be extremely anxious. She is seated next to Eren Yeager, both of them clad in white. The boy seemingly has bandages around his forehead. Apparently, the injury Eren is sporting suggests that the scene takes place right after the events in the Season 1 finale.
Speaking about the first "Attack on Titan" Season 2 trailer, Funimation said, "'Attack on Titan' is set to return in April 2017. See the first glimpse of the new season here in this official promotional video from Kodansha! New titans, new locations, and new human warriors as well as many familiar faces come into play this time around."
