Katy Perry has made a Tennessee pastor quite angry and furious. Baptist Pastor Charles Lawson of Temple Baptist Church in Knoxville has declared that Perry's provocative lyrics seem to be worshipping Satan.
"I don't listen to Katy Perry, I don't listen to Madonna, I don't listen to Lady Gaga, I don't listen to Beyoncé - I don't listen to any of them," said Pastor Lawson on a Sunda sermo , where he read some of the lyrics of Perry's hit number "E.T.(Futuristic Lover)." Watch the complete video below.
"'Ready for abduction, boy you're an alien. Your touch so foreign, it's supernatural, extraterrestrial,'" said Pastor Lawson while reading the lyrics by Perry. He declared that by singing such provocative lines, Perry is revealing her attraction towards devil. He told the mass that today's pop-music obsessed generation has been drifted away from Jesus and has started singing praises for the devil, Raw Story reported.
Pastor Lawson pointed out that Perry is clearly talking about having a physical relationship with a devil in one of her songs. The pastor also mentioned that he could not read every line as some of them are really embarrassing.
The pastor went on and recalled the similar effects on the masses in the era of Beatles. Imitating the screaming teen girls which were a fixture in every Beatles concert and performances, Pastor declared that the whole obsession was satanic.
Not only Perry, the pastor also pointed fingers at Lady Gaga, Madonna, Beyonce and Miley Cyrus for preparing a "generation that will embrace the Antichrist, no questions asked." The pastor declared that such pop stars are exercising a horrible influence on young people's mind.
Pastor Lawson apparently does not like the promotion of female sexuality, The Frisky reported. He feels that people are slowly, but steadily, drifting towards the devil. The so-called satanic lyrics are making the transition even smoother and faster. He also declared that the young generation is the prime target.
