Miss A’s Suzy, Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun to debut as solo artists

K-pop singers and actresses Suzy and Seohyun are set to debut as solo artists this January. Entertainment agencies representing both artists - JYP Entertainment for Suzy and SM Entertainment for Seohyun - have confirmed the news by posting teasers of their new and upcoming tracks and music video.

Yonhap News Agency revealed that Seohyun is busy preparing for her first solo EP album. Her agency SM Entertainment has released a series of glamorous teaser images to promote Seohyun's solo debut. According to Soompi, her first mini album and title track is called "Don't Say No," which is an "R&B track that contains elements of pop and a funky piano rhythm."

The youngest member of the globally acclaimed K-pop girl group Girls' Generation will kick off her album's promotion on Jan. 16. Moreover, Seohyun's full album will be available online on Jan. 17, while the physical album will be released on Jan. 18, Allkpop reported.

In other news, Yonhap News Agency also reported that Suzy will release a new song on Jan. 17. This will be followed by her EP album which will be available on Jan. 24. The article even pointed out that teaser images and videos for her new music had been posted on Suzy's Instagram account and JYP Entertainment's Facebook page.

The youngest member of the K-pop girl group Miss A has also unveiled on Wednesday the track list of her soon to be released first solo album titled "Yes? No?" which has six tracks including the main single called "Yes No Maybe", The Jakarta Post reported.

According to the news website, JYP Entertainment revealed the stories behind the songs in Suzy's first solo album.

"Yes No Maybe" was a song "inspired by a personal conversation between the 23-year-old and Park Jin-young, the singer-producer CEO of JYP Entertainment. Moreover, "Pretending To Be Happy," is an R&B single "featuring stories of people who are in agony and pain on the inside, but pretend to be happy due to fear of ridicule by others." "Pretending To Be Happy" is written by Armadillo and will be released on Jan. 17, according to The Jakarta Post.
