Fresh information suggests that the Nokia P1 Android flagship smartphone will be unveiled at MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2017 next month.

A Russian publication has revealed that the Nokia P1 is based on an older smartphone from Japan, Sharp Aquos Xx3. The reason why this rumor makes sense is that Foxconn that manufactures Nokia devices had acquired Sharp in 2016, Phone Arena reported.

It will offer a radical refresh rate of 120 Hz. However, there is no confirmation on where the device supports full or quad HD resolution.

The Nokia P1 is heavily speculated to be powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC along with 6 GB of RAM. It is expected to launch in multiple storage variants like 128 GB and 256 GB.

For photography, it is speculated to be equipped with a 22.6-megapixel Zeiss certified camera. It may come with features like OIS, autofocus, and 4K video recording, Slash Gear reported.

The P1 is pegged to include a 3,500 mAh battery enabled with quick charging feature. It is expected to come preinstalled with Android 7.0 Nougat OS.

The Nokia P1 may sport a IP57 certified water and dust resistant chassis. It will include a fingerprint scanner on its right edge. A press render of Nokia P1 had surfaced in July 2016. It revealed color variants like blue and salmon

Nokia P1 Price

Nokia P1 is expected to cost $800 for its 128 GB variant. The 256 GB model is pegged to be available for $900.

HMD Global that develops and advertises Nokia smartphones has already unleashed the Nokia 6 phone to relaunch the smartphone brand. However, Nokia fans are eagerly waiting for the company to unveil a flagship smartphone.

Nokia has confirmed that it will be present at MWC 2017. It is expected to unveil multiple devices including the rumored Nokia P1. Recent rumors have also revealed that the company aims to launch 6-7 smartphones in 2017.
