After the recent rollout of the Android Nougat update to the unlocked HTC One A9 smartphones, HTC is seeding the firmware on more of its models - one is the HTC 10 Lifestyle units. Furthermore, HTC 10 and HTC One M9 users in Europe have been deemed to receive the latest Android Nougat update.
HTC is slowly gaining its momentum on the Android Nougat scene after finally starting to update the unlocked HTC One A9 smartphone's operating system into the latest Nougat. Now, the OTA update has turn to HTC 10, HTC 10 Lifestyle, and One M9 devices in receiving the latest Android version, NDTV reported.
The HTC 10 devices in United Kingdom have begun receiving the latest Nougat version, with other regions getting the update soon. The said announcement was confirmed by HTC's Graham Wheeler, Product and Service Director, HTC EMEA through a Twitter post.
In a tweet, Wheeler says "HTC 10 Nougat starts rolling out today. UK first more regions to follow soon."
On another note, the HTC 10 Lifestyle and HTC One M9 devices have also been catching up with the Android Nougat updates in Europe. The two devices have been cited with the latest Android Nougat update through Twitter posts, indicating the update's download size, Android Police reported.
According to a user @LlabTooFeR, the HTC 10 Lifestyle's Nougat version will carry a ROM version of 2.22.401.3, with 1.17GB in size. In addition, the HTC One M9 is also receiving OTA update in a ROM version of 4.14.401.7, which packs a 1.27GB in size.
After the release of Android Nougat's final build in 2016, HTC had announced that its HTC 10, HTC One M9, and HTC One A9 models will receive the update sometime in the fourth quarter; however, due to bug fixes, the company might have delayed the rollout.
The OTA update should take more time until it reaches more operator variants and other countries. However, users should check their phone's settings from time to time to check for the latest Android Nougat update.
To recall, Android 7.0 Nougat offers improvement on multi-window support, performance enhancements, improved battery life, and changes to notifications, among other new features.
