Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge receive Android 7.0 Nougat update

The upcoming smart devices, Galaxy S7 and S7 edge is powered by Android Nougat

The Android Nougat is making its way to more Samsung devices, which now recently intended for Galaxy S7 and S7 edge units. 

Samsung gave a makeover to the phone app by adding background colors to match the contacts that provide a new look and feel. Aside from that, the battery usage indicator has cleaned up together with the additional power saving modes, mid and max, and allowing users to control how much power the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge uses.

According to to the Express Lifestyle UK, the update for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge allows users to change the intensity of the handsets flashlights through Quick Settings. For those users who want to gain even more battery life, they can now change the 2,560 x 1440 Quad HD resolution to a lower setting as well as the size of system fonts.

The update also includes new toggles in the notification bar appear further apart in a 3 x 3 grid. A new video-enhanced setting received a facelift providing enhanced sound and video to make viewing a better experience, as noted on the Tech Radar.

The built-in Samsung calendar application has also been upgraded. It also features Samsung Pass, which is a security feature that eliminates the need for typing passwords. Additional features of Galaxy S7 edge will include a calendar Edge Panel and a new device maintenance.

The Android Nougat update also brings Performance Mode to the upcoming Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge units. The four variants of Performance Mode will be made available to the upcoming device, which includes Entertainment Mode, Game Mode, Performance Mode and Optimize Mode.

The updated upcoming smartphones will also include a new blue light filter similar to Apple's Night Shift, which features color warning on the display to help user sleep better. After the Nougat OS installation, device owners will find the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge unit capable of downloading apps and software updates faster. Furthermore, additional details of the update about the upcoming Android Nougat and other devices will be made available soon.
