Since “Descendants of the Sun” concluded in mid-April 2016 after airing 16 episodes over KBS 2TV in South Korea and iQiyi in China, the pressure to admit they are in a romantic relationship was there for lead stars Song Joong-ki and Song Hye Kyo.

The two single Hallyu stars, although they insist they are just friends and not in a relationship, continues to feel the pressure not just to admit a relationship but to marry. The pressure was especially felt when they separately posted photos on Instagram with young children and when Rain and Kim Tae Hee married in late January.

Error or Slip of the Pen?

An error made by Laneige – Song Hye Kyo’s endorsement – or was it a slip, made fans of the SongSong couple happy because the cosmetic brand posted in Chinese characters on Thursday, Feb. 2, that the 35-year-old actress is finally marrying. The post read: “Laneige’s goddess spokesperson, Song Hye Kyo, and oppa have recently confirmed the wedding date – so happy - can only hope that one day cupid will look upon me too,” I Love Stars reported.

But since the post only mentioned an “oppa” and did not name the groom, it left fans wondering if it referred to Song Joong-ki. The entertainment website said the basis of the information is a leak from friends of the SongSong couple who allegedly received a wedding invitation from the pair.

Post Revised

However, Laneige revised the post after a few minutes to read now as: “Laneige’s goddess spokesperson, Song Hye Kyo, is very happy recently – I can only hope that one day cupid will look upon me too,” Inquisitr reported. Because of the change, not all fans of the couple believe there would be a wedding soon. They would rather wait for an official announcement from Song Hye Kyo.

Both Laneige and United Artists Agency, the agency that represents Song Hye Kyo, have not made any official comment on the rumor.
