The rumor mill has started talking about the alleged specifications, price and release date of Galaxy Note 8. Fresh information suggest that it would be arriving with a codenamed of Baikal.

After the Galaxy Note 7 recall in October 2016, the rumor mill had stated that the company would be killing the Note series forever.

However, when Samsung gave out details on the exchange program of Galaxy Note 7, it had hinted about releasing a successor device this year. Moreover, while announcing the exact cause of Galaxy Note 7 issue in the previous month, the company did confirm the Galaxy Note 8 will be better, safer and innovative, CNET reported.

A leakster has revealed on Twitter that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is codenamed as "Baikal." Baikal is one only one of the oldest lakes in the mountainous areas of Siberia and it is said to be the deepest lake in the world, Android Pure reported.

Samsung is expected to introduce Bixby voice assistant on Galaxy S8. Hence, it is likely to be available on Galaxy Note 8 that is pegged to release later this year by August. Rumors are also claim that the Note 8 would be arriving with a costlier price tag than Note 7.

As of this writing, there is no official information available on Galaxy Note 8. However, the Seoul-based company seems to be concentrating on the launch of Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus smartphones at March end. On Feb. 26, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Tab S3.
