"The Originals" Season 4 will see Hope (Summer Fontana) familiarizing herself with her father, Klaus (Joseph Morgan), but not necessarily spending time with him.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Julie Plec explained the kind of relationship Hope will have with her father. Since she does not have early memories of him, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) will play a major role in connecting the two.
Hayley will keep Hope aware of her father's existence, who and what he is, as well as the truth about their lives. Fans of the hit The CW series will also get the chance to see Hope in a new light since she will already be seven years old when the show premieres next month.
Meanwhile, Hope will also have some abilities of her own. After all, both of her parents are not humans. At one point, she and Klaus will also reunite with each other, and they will be surprised to know that they have a lot of things in common.
Other than Hope's relationship with Klaus, the young girl will also have other storylines throughout Season 4. Hope will come face to face with a villainous character that wants to put her life at risk.
In order to protect her, Hayley and Klaus will team up to watch over their young girls. Elijah (Daniel Gillies), Hope's uncle, will also play a crucial role in making sure his niece is safe.
He and Hayley have very strong feelings for each other, and this is another story that will be explored throughout the most part of Season 4. In fact, executive producer Michael Narducci told TV Line that Hayley and Elijah's relationship is one of the most dynamic connections in the TV series.
"These are two people who clearly love each other, even though they have a very complicated situation... When their family is put in jeopardy, these two people are going to do whatever they have to do to protect each other," he said.
"The Originals" Season 4 will premiere on The CW on March 17 at 8 p.m. EST.
