Sony Xperia XZ (2017) may be released at the Mobile World Congress, which is going to be held from Feb. 27 to March 2 in Barcelona. It is expected to come packed with Snapdragon 821 processor, 6GB RAM and a fingerprint sensor.
At the previous MWC, Sony dropped the name "Z" from its flagship range of its devices, however, it is still maintained in some smartphones such as the Sony Xperia XZ. With the new naming structure, the upcoming release is expected to be called Sony Xperia XZ (2017) or Xperia X2.
The new phone is expected to run on a quad-core 2.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor. It is a very powerful processor and has proved to be ideal for most of the Sony smartphones.
Meanwhile, the RAM of the awaited Sony Xperia XZ 2017, should be more than its predecessor. It is rumored to have a RAM capacity of 4 to 6 GB. The internal storage of the new phone may be 32GB or 64GB.
Regarding the screen size and resolution specs, the upcoming smartphone is expected to have a 4K display of either 5.2-inches or 5.5-inches, according to Digital Trends. Screen resolution of the new Xperia flagship device may be either 2560x1440 IPS or 3840x2160 IPS.
Sony is well-known to have very powerful cameras in all their smartphones, which is a popular feature among consumers. The new Xperia XZ is expected to have a 23MP single-lens or 12MP dual lens front camera. The rear camera may be 13MP single-lens.
Apart from these, other specs include USB Type-C and the fingerprint sensor, according to GSM Arena. The smartphone will run on the new Android OS Nougat.
Moreover, the Xperia X2 or XZ(2017) is expected to range between $450 to $550 depending on the specifications. It will most likely be close to the price of Xperia XZ, which was released in Sept. 2016.
On the other hand, it is surprising that Sony is planning to release a new smartphone Xperia XZ (2017) because they had released the current Sony Xperia XZ in Sept. 2016. The quick successive release of the smartphones implies that the new Sony Xperia XZ (2017) is expected to be a much better version of the current model.
