Broken Matt Hardy smiles as he prepares to delete Brother Nero.

One of the biggest WWE rumors this week is the contract talks of Broken Matt Hardy and Broken Brother Nero with TNA Wrestling. The negotiations have reportedly failed and the Hardy Boyz are free to sign with the WWE.

According to Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, Matt and Jeff's contract with TNA, which are under the new ownership of Anthem and re-branded as Impact Wrestling, were set to expire at the end of February. They were looking for a one-year deal but Anthem was not ready to give it to them.

Satin noted that Anthem wanted the Broken Hardy brothers to sign two-year deals. A term that gives the company 10 percent of Matt and Jeff's earnings outside Impact Wrestling was also added to the proposed contract.

The report also pointed out that Anthem executive Ed Norholm made a comment that got Jeff really pissed off and he walked out of the room. On the other hand, Matt continued the talks but no deal was made and Anthem is now looking to get the titles back from the Broken Hardys.

Broken Matt Hardy confirmed on Twitter that they are no longer affiliated with TNA, Impact Wrestling and Anthem. He thanked the fans for all of their support and told the members of the TNA roster that the company will treat them right.

The Hardys followed Drew Galloway, who left Impact Wrestling over the weekend. All three superstars are being linked with a move to the WWE sometime after WrestleMania 33. As for the TNA Tag Team Titles, Anthem has stripped the Hardys.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required), the WWE wants to bring Matt and Jeff back to the company. Meltzer noted that the Broken Hardys will make a lot more money if the go back to the WWE.

The only problem for Matt and Jeff when they return to the WWE is the difficult schedule and they surely won't have a lot of creative freedom. Nevertheless, the brothers have expressed their interest in having one final run in the WWE.

The Hardy Boyz are one of the greatest tag teams in WWE history. They made their names as a tag team and as singles wrestlers with Jeff having the better career. However, the Broken character has revitalized the career of Matt.
