6 Netflix Originals you should not miss in 2017

"13 Reasons Why" Season 2 is officially happening.

Netflix is home to a lot of amazing original TV shows, movies and documentaries. In terms of shows, "13 Reasons Why" is taking the cake this year as being Netflix's most talked-about and obsessed-over show to date. Netflix's best original movies on the way this coming 2017 and we've got the list covered.

Small Crimes

"Small Crimes" stars "Game of Thrones" actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau. He plays Joe, a corrupt ex-cop who goes to jail for small crimes. Now that he's free, he tries to start over, but he couldn't move on from what he did in the past and the people affected by them. Will Joe go back to his old ways and fall back into criminality and corruption?

War Machine

Brad Pitt enters into Netflix territory with "War Machine," which is loosely based on Michael Hasting's expose in Rolling Stones magazine about General Stanley McChrystal. According to The Daily Mail, McChrystal led the international and US forces in Afghanistan and was considered a "rock star" by colleagues as he was brought in to "clean up" the eight-year-long war in the country.

The film also stars Topher Grace, Tilda Swinton and Ben Kingsley.

Okja

"Snowpiercer" creator Joon Ho Bong brings another masterpiece that centers on the relationship of a young Korean girl with a mysterious creature named Okja. In the film, Okja appears to be a harmless character. Humans, particularly a large multi-national company, are portrayed as the villains as they seek to kidnap Okja with the intention of exploiting it.

Naked

The comedy stars Marlon Wayans. The film focuses on a man who is forced to repeat the morning of his wedding day until he gets things right, Screen Rant reports. 

To the Bone

The movie stars Keanu Reeves and Lilly Collins, and premiered in Sundance this year. It tells the story of a twenty-year old anorexic (Collins) who is sent to a facility to live with girls with eating disorders. The movie has a stellar 80 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

IO

It's a coming of age story that centers on a teenage girl named Sam who searches for a cure for the Earth before the last shuttle leaves Earth forever. It's a sci-fi film that stars Margaret Qualley and "Captain America" star Anthony Mackie.
