Filming for "Mission: Impossibly 6" is underway in Paris, France. Lead star Tom Cruise was spotted in Paris on April 10, Monday, shooting a dramatic car chase, The Daily Mail reported. He was also spotted doing a scene with a stunt double.
What's the "Mission: Impossible 6" plot?
So far, the "Mission: Impossible 6" plot has been kept under wraps by Skydance Media CEO David Ellison but teased that Cruise will be performing "the biggest stunt sequence of his career" in his sixth outing as Ethan Hunt.
"What Tom is doing in this movie I believe will top anything that's come before. It is absolutely unbelievable-he's been training for a year," Ellison told Collider. "It is going to be, I believe, the most impressive and unbelievable thing that Tom Cruise has done in a movie, and he has been working on it since right after 'Rogue Nation' came out [in 2015]. It's gonna be mind-blowing."
Where's Jeremy Renner?
Ethan Hunt's right-hand man, William Brandt, will not appear in "Mission: Impossible 6." It has been confirmed that actor Jeremy Renner is unable to reprise his role due to his commitments with Marvel. Renner is currently filming "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers 4" back to back.
Henry Cavill joins cast
Filling in for Renner is none other than "Man of Steel" star Henry Cavill. Cavill's character is expected to take Renner's place as Cruise's second-in-command. As a caveat, McQuarrie told Cavill that his role requires him to "enjoy extreme heights, high speeds, motor vehicles of all varieties (especially aircraft), practical stunts, firearms, and sporadic exposition." With that said, it is safe to say that Cavill will not be missing out on those explosive action sequences.
