Samsung S6 and S6 Edge Launched in Australia; Pricing Starts at $999

Samsung is set to release its flagship smartphone, Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, in Australia and the prices start at $999 and $1,149, respectively.

The batteries in both the models are smaller than the 2,800 mAh battery of S5, it is expected that the developments in screen and battery technology are all set to grab the attention of its users. The phones along with their faster charging capability coupled with provision for wireless charging make it a tough competitor to the HTC One M9. The Samsung Galaxy S6 packs Gorilla Glass 4 and seamless metal glass, which provides a shimmering effect when it reflects light. 

According to News.com.authe phones packs a screen the same size as Galaxy S5 variant but the Quad HD resolution makes it a must have for the users. Moreover, the smart phones come with a fingerprint scanner that does not require to be swiped by a finger.

The Sydney Morning Herald has however remarked that the phones come with a lot of "Bloatware", pre installed software that takes up much of the disk space.The handsets will be available for preorders starting Thursday and for actual purchase from Apr. 10 onwards.

Furthermore, the phones will be available in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage variants and in White Pearl and Black Sapphire models only. The Australian community is all set to miss out on the gorgeous blue and green colors revealed at the Mobile world Congress, the report added. On the other hand, the Samsung S6 Edge is for the discerning customer and it is available in numerous colors like green, white, blue and black.

Various telecom providers have been providing inaugural offers for the new smart phones though the exact plans are yet to be unveiled.
