"Star Wars Rebels" season 2 will feature villain Darth Vader prominently, according to the series producers.

On April 18, Saturday, "Star Wars Rebels" producers Simon Kinberg and Dave Filoni attended the panel for the series at the "Star Wars" Celebration 2015.

One of the revelations the producers gave was the prominent role of Darth Vader in season 2 after the villain made a grand appearance at the end of season 1, according to Digital Spy.

Filoni said that he wants "Star Wars Rebels" to be different from the previous "Clone Wars" animated series. He said he and Kinberg discussed about giving the cast of "Star Wars Rebels" their own space.

Aside from Darth Vader, "Clone Wars" characters Ahsoka, Captain Rex and Hondo Ohnaka are also featured in the first official trailer of "Star Wars Rebels" season 2.

"It's really the story of this crew (and) Ezra's evolution into a Jedi knight," Filoni said. "If we found a way to include characters from the past, then those character moments are important (to) the story that we're telling now."

According to Filoni, it is very important to be careful about which characters they bring into the period of "Star Wars Rebels," which includes the classic trilogy and the prequel trilogy.

For Filoni, they still have to be conscious although having Yoda, Lando and Tarkin played off well to avoid making it appear like a stream of guest appearances.

Kinberg also noted that there is automatic pressure from doing anything with "Star Wars" in the title because it is like adding new books to the Bible, Hero Complex reported.
