Xperia is a family of smartphones and tablets from Sony.

Sony is working on its latest flagship phone, the Sony Xperia Z5, which boasts of an aesthetic design inspired from the Sony Bravia television set series. The phone will possess Ultrasonic Sense ID, 4 GB RAM, a 2K screen display, a software-based camera sensor and optical image stabilization.

Rumors are rife that Sony is planning on releasing Sony Xperia Z5 Ultra and Sony Xperia Z5 Compact along with this smartphone as well.

Sony smartphones are known to come equipped with their flagship standard finger prints scanner system, but the Sony Xperia Z5 will not be sporting it this time. Instead, the flagship smartphone will come equipped with Qualcomm's Ultrasonic Sense ID. Thus, it will be the first smart phone from Sony to sport such a feature.

This phone will also sport many new features which the users will use for the first time like the software-based camera sensor, according to Android Pit.

This current smartphone will also ditch the Omni Balance design which Sony is using since the last five generations of its smartphone series. Instead of this design, the Sony Xperia Z5 is in talks with a Japanese company for an aesthetic design. This design will enable the smartphone to sport a clear front screen with a crystal frosted glass effect. Sony's logo will also shift to the side of the phone, instead of the default current location.

The phone will be launched in the last quarter of 2015, but some reports also suggest that it may get delayed to a January 2016 release.
