It turned out that One Direction band members were indeed angry with Zayn Malik over his sudden departure.
The revelation came to light when all the four remaining members of the band sat down with their pal James Corden for an interview on Thursday's "Late Late Show."
In their first interview since Malik's exit, the band members declared that they were shocked and disappointed, although there were no hard feelings.
"At first we were a little bit angry. We were surprised, but I think we all knew the general vibe that Zayn was feeling," said Liam Payne to explain how everyone felt after receiving the news that Malik was leaving the group.
They were also asked whether they are still in touch with the angelic-voiced singer, Louis Tomlinson was quick to reply that "there's been a bit of back and forth," referring sarcastically to the heated Twitter exchange he had with Malik and his apparent music producer, Naughty Boy, in past few days, People reported. The singer also added that things are comparatively fine now and he has no enmity towards Malik.
Harry Styles, who remained pensive throughout the interview, slammed the rumours that the band is looking for a replacement. The band also clarified that they will continue as a four-member boy band and no one else will be added to the band to replace Malik. Niall Horan also chipped in to say that no one else will quit the band now and they are looking forward to come up with a new album.
Meanwhile, on another show, "Celebrity Juice," Naughty Boy hinted that Malik's desire for solo career is not the only reason for his sudden exit from the band. He refused to divulge further details, saying that Malik will open up about the true reason behind his shocking exit when he is ready, Daily Mail reported.
